Technologies
In developing our products we set equal store in tried and tested procedures as well as ground-breaking innovations, ideally using a combination of both. In equal measure we don't adhere to short-lived trends or "scientific" fads.
Micro encapsulation/ Coating
In a row of applications it is necessary, to package certain materials, to give them a coating. Depending on whether this coating should be permanent or should open under certain circumstances to release its contents, we talk of coating (permanent) or micro encapsulation (targeted release). The reasons for this are varied, and such a coating is provided thus
- for long term stabilisation of substances and preparations
- for separating components, which would react with other prematurely
- to protect from destructive influences, eg. Sunlight (especially UV rays)
- to set slightly volatile materials
- to achieve optical effects (colour, pearlescent)
- for a depot effect, targeted component release
- to mask taste or odour
- a separating coating to incompatible substances
- to reduce allergies, dust and static electricity
This results in a variety of new possibilities for clever products, for example, our patent-pending film-forming system for removing graffiti Graffiti-to-go! Suitable cleaning substances and solvents are micro encapsulated in a poymermatrix, which only becomes effective when the film is formed on the unclean substrate.
Sol_Gel
This really is a classic way to produce ultra-thin coatings with an extremely strong bond to the substrate and very high stability. Sol-Gel Coatings is targeted to achieve certain effects, such as
- Easy-to-Clean (ETC)
- Anti-fingerprint (AF)
- Non-stick
- Anti-microbial
A solution with special composites is applied to the surface which has been perfectly cleaned beforehand. The cross linking which occurs causes the viscose solution to change into an elastic gel. The removal of the solvent causes the high-strength, meshed structure with glass-like properties.
Bionic
Taken from nature
We would like to put amazing effects and phenomena which occur in
nature into practice in new forms and so present our customers with
a new direction in the world of inks and coatings.
In the meantime the natural world is a role model in many areas:
the strength and elasticity of a spider's web is unsurpassed, even
Kevlar cannot compete with the natural spider's thread. The widely-used
Easy-to-Clean coatings are based on a lotus leaf and the structure
of shark skin is the inspiration for the latest generation of ships'
coatings.
We are always being amazed and would like to use the magic world of nature as a role model for future innovations.
We realize the ideas of tomorrow
